Copyright assignment

How does ZeroC handle copyright assignment for patches submitted via the forum? Is copyright assigned to ZeroC automatically by terms of service, or is a separate, formal copyright assignment required?

From time to time I'd like to be able to submit patches for Ice and I'd like to make sure that I assign the copyright to ZeroC properly. I'm pretty sure my employer feels the same way!

Hi Paul,

If you post a patch on these forums, you keep copyright on your code: there is no automatic assignment.

In order to incorporate such patch (enhancement etc.) in a future Ice release, we need a formal copyright assignment from you. If you like, I'll email you our template.
