Question regarding db version requirement

I'm curious if the dependency of db is strictly set to 4.3.29 or if Ice works/has been tested on more recent versions. I know that the 4.4 series of db has been out for some time, and the 4.5 series has also just been released, but I was wondering if 4.3 was the only supported version to be used with Ice.

If so, are there any plans to move to a more recent version in the future? It's not critical for my project, but I'm trying to plan the requirements for system sales.

Thanks.

Hi Caleb,

As of Ice 3.1.1, Berkeley DB 4.3.29 is the only Berkeley DB version we support.

It's likely that you can build Ice with DB 4.4 or 4.5 with no or minimal changes, however we would not support this combination. We will most likely upgrade the DB version we support for the next Ice release.

Best regards,
Bernard
