IceStorm simplifies development by relieving the application from the burden of managing subscribers and handling delivery errors, allowing the application to focus on publishing its data and not on the minutiae of distribution. Finally, IceStorm leverages Ice request-forwarding facilities in order to provide a typed interface to publishers and subscribers, minimizing the impact on applications.
