CCTVnet is a comprehensive integrated security solution for network-based CCTV (closed circuit TV), access control and security systems with emphasis on observation and intervention. The familiar analogue video and audio matrix solutions are replaced by modern network technology providing a flexible virtual matrix. Now it is possible to make all security-relevant information accessible everywhere, independent of their geographical origin.

The CCTVnet software is highly scalable, from the simple single workstation version to the complex, worldwide distributed enterprise solution. With its client-server architecture, the integrated CCTVnet Integration Framework (CIF) and hardware abstraction layer (HAL) is ready for future extensions such as Voice over IP and Radio Frequency ID as well as integration of third party security systems such as access control and fire and intrusion alarm systems. CCTVnet is written in Java, with Ice providing the secure network communication between all modules of the solution in a heterogeneous network environment.
